David Rothenberg

Professor of philosophy and music at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He wrote Why Birds Sing (Basic Books and Penguin UK), published in six languages and turned into a BBC TV documentary, and he has seven CDs out under his own name, including On the Cliffs of the Heart, one of the top ten CDs of 1995 in Jazziz Magazine.  His latest book Thousand Mile Song (Basic) and CD Whale Music came out in May 2008.  Rothenberg’s previous books include The Book of Music and Nature (Wesleyan University Press, 2001).
