Michael Berry

Michael Eisenberg is the 2007/2008 Bibliographical Society of America Folter History of Bibliography Fellow and a 2008/2009 Harvard Houghton Library Katharine Pantzer Jr. Descriptive Bibliography Fellow. He has held fellowships from the Newberry Library, the Herzog August Bibliothek, the Delmas and Mellon Foundations, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Institute of Historical Research, and the Bibliographical Society of London. An active harpsichordist and pianist in the metropolitan NYC area, Mr. Eisenberg has performed and lectured on the rosters of Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Opera Guild, and Lincoln Center since 1996. He is currently completing his Ph.D. in musicology at the City University of New York. His dissertation, "Keyboard Seconda pratica in Transmission: An Early History of Copper-Engraved Music" treats the topic of engraved music in early-modern Italy.
