Presentación

TRANS 2 contiene artículos centrados en el tema de la identidad étnica en el contexto de la globalización y la diversificación de prácticas musicales en países iberoamericanos. Salvo los textos de M. P. Baumann y de D. Laborde, los trabajos que se publican son una selección de los que se presentaron en el Segundo Encuentro Iberoamericano de etnomusicología, realizado en Barcelona en junio 30-julio 2 de 1995.

Esperamos que en el futuro, Trans pueda aparecer por lo menos dos veces al año. Los dos próximos números de TRANS estarán destinados a tratar problemas relativos al género y a las música populares, respectivamente.

Foreword


TRANS 2 presents articles focusing on ethnic identity in the context of the globalization and the
diversification of musical practices in Iberoamerican countries. Except the texts by M. P. Baumann and D. Laborde, all the other texts have been presented at the 2nd Encounter of Iberoamerican Ethnomusicologists in Barcelona (june 30-july 2, 1995).

We hope that in the future TRANS will be able to appear at least twice yearly. The next numbers will deal with gender and popular music issues.
